The Weddings
The images couples remember most are rarely the ones they planned for.
They're the quiet moments between the big moments. A glance across the room. A parent trying not to cry. A burst of laughter nobody saw coming.
Your wedding day moves faster than you think it will. My job is to already be in the right place before the moment happens. I've learned that the photographs you'll treasure most are the ones you didn't know were being taken.
If you just felt something reading that, let's talk about your wedding→
I am built for connection.
Photography is simply one way I express it.
I don't just create things,
I care about them.
The Experience
01 — Introduction
We start with a conversation. Coffee, FaceTime, a phone call. I want to understand how you want the day to feel, not just what's on the schedule. It's also a chance to make sure we're the right fit. Not every photographer is right for every couple. That matters to me.
02 — Planning
Once your date is confirmed, I'll help shape a photography timeline that keeps the day feeling relaxed. The best moments rarely happen on cue. A good timeline gives them room.
03 — The Wedding Day
I stay calm, I stay present, and I photograph the day as it actually happens. When space is needed for portraits or quieter moments, I'll create it. Otherwise I'm there to document, not direct. You'll barely notice I'm working. Until you see the photographs.
I photograph a limited number of weddings each year. Not because of availability. Because every couple deserves full attention from the first conversation to the final gallery.
Wedding Day Coverage & Investment.
Every wedding is different. So is every quote.
Coverage is built around your day, not a package list. Whether it's an intimate Oslo ceremony, a celebration elsewhere in Norway, or a destination wedding abroad, we'll figure out what makes sense together.
Coverage starts at NOK 23,000. Packages vary based on hours, location, and scope.
What's always included:
Coverage photographed personally by Joseph Pessar
Professionally edited high-resolution image gallery
Private online gallery for downloading and sharing
Timeline guidance and planning support
The easiest next step is telling me about your day. No forms. No packages to pick from. Just a conversation.
FAQ - Weddings
-
Most couples book 9–12 months in advance, especially for summer weddings in Oslo and destination weddings throughout Norway. Some dates become unavailable much earlier, particularly weekends during peak season, so reaching out early is always recommended.
-
Yes, I photograph weddings throughout Norway and internationally, including destination weddings, smaller celebrations, and multi-day events. Whether you’re planning a wedding in Oslo, elsewhere in Norway, or abroad, coverage can be tailored around the location, timeline, and overall experience of the day.
-
Absolutely. Many of the couples I work with are planning weddings in Norway from abroad. I’m happy to help guide the planning process, timeline, logistics, and photography coverage remotely throughout the process.
-
My approach is rooted in documentary wedding photography with an editorial influence. I focus on photographing the day naturally as it unfolds while also creating space for relaxed portraits and quieter moments throughout the day. Most couples I work with want photographs that feel honest, personal, and timeless rather than overly posed.
-
Most couples I photograph are not used to being photographed professionally. My approach stays calm and lightly guided when needed, while still allowing space for natural interaction and movement. The goal is never to over-direct the day, but to help you feel comfortable enough to simply be present in it.
-
Yes. Nearly 30 years of photographing weddings means I've seen what works and what doesn't. A good timeline makes the whole day feel calmer. I'm happy to help build one."
-
Yes, I regularly photograph weddings and ceremonies at Oslo Rådhus, smaller Oslo celebrations, and intimate weekday weddings throughout the city. Coverage can be customized for shorter ceremonies, elopements, and smaller gatherings as well.
-
A preview gallery is usually delivered within the first week after the wedding, with the full gallery following within 2 to 3 weeks. Every image is personally edited.
If you're planning a wedding this year or next, let's talk sooner rather than later.
Joseph Pessar
Introduced by Kathrine Sørland. Focused on you.
I've spent nearly thirty years behind the camera at weddings. And two years ago I found myself standing on stage next to Kathrine Sørland -- one of Norway's most recognized hosts -- in front of 200 guests. I still can't quite believe that happened.
She gave me a minute to share one piece of advice with the room. I told them this: find three moments on your wedding day that have nothing to do with your wedding. Disappear with your partner. Have a quiet toast. Look at each other and say -- I can't believe we did this.
The day goes fast. Those three minutes are the ones you'll remember.
Your day is going to move faster than you think. Let's talk before it gets here.
The photograph matters because it's a person.
The wedding matters because it's a family.
Yours matters to me.
