I’m Joseph Pessar, a New York–born photographer, creative director, and event producer based in Oslo, Norway.
For more than 20 years, I've photographed weddings, people, and events while helping brands and businesses create meaningful experiences.
My work has taken me from New York and Miami to projects throughout Norway, combining documentary photography, creative direction, and event production.
Today, I continue to work with individuals, brands, and organizations who value connection, storytelling, and authentic experiences.
A documentary approach shaped between New York and Norway
Growing up in New York taught me to pay attention to people, energy, and the moments happening between the obvious ones.
After moving to Norway, that perspective evolved through a different pace of life and a deeper appreciation for simplicity, atmosphere, and connection.
Today, my work combines both influences: the energy of New York and the calm presence of Scandinavia.
Weddings, events, and creating experiences
Photography has always been my foundation, but my work extends far beyond the camera.
For more than six years, I've produced Bryllupsmessen at Glasmagasinet, one of Norway's most recognized wedding events, bringing together brands, fashion, photography, and live experiences.
Producing events has strengthened the way I work as a photographer. Understanding flow, timing, guest experience, and human connection helps me anticipate moments before they happen.
Whether I'm photographing a wedding, directing a creative project, or producing an event, the goal is the same: creating experiences that people remember.
Based in Oslo and available throughout Norway and internationally.
